During the UK’s D-Day anniversary event on June 5th, one curious veteran couldn’t help but ask Wills about his beloved Kate. “Is she getting any better?” the war hero inquired. William’s reassuring reply? “Yes, she is. She’d have loved to be here.”
The Last Time We Saw Kate Middleton
It’s been months since we’ve gotten a real glimpse of the radiant royal. Kate’s most recent public outing was back in 2023 for that annual family Christmas walk to church service. Meanwhile, her last major appearance was in March when she shared the gutting news of her cancer diagnosis in a heartfelt video message.
In her own words, “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I’m so grateful.”
Kate Middleton Opens Up About Her Brutal Cancer Journey
The mother-of-three revealed she had major abdominal surgery in January, only to be devastated by follow-up tests confirming she had cancer. Cue the preventative chemotherapy her doctors insisted on.
Through it all, Kate made clear that protecting her kids – Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte – was paramount. As she explained, “William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family…It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that’s appropriate for them.”
Despite the overwhelming odds, Kate’s spirit remains unbroken. “As I’ve said to them, I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirit.”
